Extension Activities

Extension Booklet

Select a topic that interests you - in this example we have used a History of Mars using a 6-Door Tab Booklet. Other topics might include, your weight on Mars, Mars in Film and Literature, or Water on Mars.

The 6-Door Tab Booklet is a variation on the 3-Door, with two fold in one direction and three folds in the other direction, with slits cut along the folds to create doors, which are folded over so that 'doors' are hidden inside.

Earth Vs Mars Fact Tester

You can test yourself and others by creating a 'Tester' (also know as a Chatterbox or Fortune Teller).

Fold from a sheet of A4 reduced to a square, following the instructions. Then write your own questions on the inside flaps and test other students. The Tester can be stored in a glued pocket inside the folder.

Fold sheet in half diagonally, vertically and horizontally, and unfold. Fold corners into centre. Turn the paper over, and repeat folding corners into centre. Fold the paper in half to create open pockets for your fingers, and centre openings. Finish off with questions and answers inside the flaps and decorate.

Celebrate Your Achievement!

Not only might other students, parents and friends enjoy seeing your work, VSSEC would like to, too. Why not take a photo or video and send it to VSSEC?
